Welcome to the Poetry Gallery
One of the greatest gifts of Druidry to the world has been the
Bardic tradition, which runs like a gold and silver thread through the tapestry
that Druidry weaves for us all. Inherent within the magic of Druid ceremony,
within our communion with nature, within our tales and myths, is the Bard
- the weaver of words and music, of song and story.
Here in the Poetry Gallery we will present a series of exhibits of poetry
from members and friends of the Order,
and from the growing community of contemporary bards throughout the world.
Our opening exhibit features selected poems from Ffrwythau, the Voice
of Members of the Order
of Bards Ovates and Druids, an anthology of poetry, prose and art by
members of the Order.
In one sense, the Welsh word "ffrwythau" means simply "fruit,"
the fruits of the Bard's labour;
but in another sense, this same word can mean "effect,"
for poetry can be seen as an outer reflection of the inner work of Druidry.
The artists whose work follows prove that the Bardic tradition is still
alive and flourishing in the hearts and minds of men and women inspired
by Druidry's breadth of vision and depth of understanding.
