Gleann Danann

Gleann Danann

Gleann Danann is a druidic community rooted in tradition and open to the new. We offer a space to explore the path of Druidry and to connect with fellow practitioners in Hungary. Through shared ceremonies, seasonal celebrations, and spiritual practice, we honour the old ways while nurturing what arises from the heart.
Our name, Gleann Danann, means “Valley of Danu” in Old Irish. It was inspired by our home city of Budapest, where the River Danube flows – a river that some sources link to the Irish goddess Danu, archetype of fertility, motherhood, and abundance. Hungary itself lies in a great basin once covered by an ancient sea, now nourished by the Danube’s waters. Our name is a tribute to this land and its natural spirit – a gesture of gratitude for all that it offers us.

Learn more about Druidry and how to join the order

The practice of Druidry used to be confined to those who could learn from a Druid in person. But now you can take an experience-based course wherever you live, and when you enrol on this course, you join the Order of Bards, Ovates & Druids, and begin an adventure that thousands of people all over the world have taken. It works with the ideas and practices of Druidry in a thoroughly practical, yet also deeply spiritual way.
