Daniel Le Fey

Celebrant

Welcome, I’m Daniel Le Fey, Priest of Avalon and Druid within the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids. I am a person-centred celebrant, specialising in handfastings and funerals, creating personalised ceremonies that truly reflect the wishes, beliefs and spirit of each individual or couple.
Every ceremony I hold begins with a blank piece of paper… and from there, we create something meaningful together. I’m open, creative and led by you — whether that’s a deeply spiritual ritual, something simple and intimate, or a completely unique expression of your story, I design each ceremony for you.
I offer bespoke handfastings, baby namings, rites of passage and sacred funerals. Ceremonies that honour love, life and spirit in a loving, heartfelt and authentic way.
With me as your celebrant, you’ll be met with honesty, warmth, full presence and a feeling of friendship. When you book me, I dedicate the entire day to your ceremony, so there’s no rushing — just the space for you to be fully held and supported. My pricing is clear and transparent, with no hidden costs. You’ll receive a dedicated and professional service throughout. I can guide you on choosing the right setting for your ceremony and support you with all the practical details that bring it together. You’re always welcome to reach out with questions at any time. I’m here to support you whenever you need. We’ll also spend time together in a one-to-one call, either in person or online, to explore your ideas, thoughts and creativity.
I’m based in Scarborough, North Yorkshire, I work across the Midlands and the North of England, I am also happy to travel to further destinations. I’ve held handfastings in many settings — from the inner Sanctuary of Stonehenge, stone circles, woodlands, parks, beaches to festivals, hotels and peoples own back gardens, anywhere and everywhere can be turned into a beautiful sacred space. One of my favourite ceremonies was an exquisite handfasting at Arbor Low Stone Circle, just myself and the couple were present, a reminder that simplicity often allows the deepest magic to unfold. I also conduct funerals in crematoriums, woodlands, village halls and outdoor spaces, creating new ways to honour and celebrate those we love and cherish.
My celebrancy path began in 2011 in Glastonbury/Avalon, where I first studied handfasting with Georgina, Priestess of Avalon. I deepened my sacred calling through the Priest of Avalon training in 2012 to 2015, in 2017 I qualified as a Level 3 NOCN Accredited Civil Celebrant with the Fellowship of Independent Celebrants, specialising in funerals and handfastings. Most recently, I’ve continued my studies learning celebrancy through the Druid tradition within OBOD.
I have a deep love and passion for creating sacred ceremonies that become long-lasting memories you’ll forever cherish. I believe ceremonies should be a celebration from the heart; for me, all rituals and ceremonies are a joy and a privilege to conduct.
Together, we weave your story — stirring in the love, joy and passion, and sprinkling in a little magic — to create not just another ceremony, but a magic spell, a day you’ll remember forever. One that leaves you with a warm feeling in your heart and soul, bringing a smile to your face with every memory.
That’s what being a celebrant means to me. I look forward to hearing from you and creating a ceremony that fills your heart with warmth and meaning.

Learn more about Druidry and how to join the order

The practice of Druidry used to be confined to those who could learn from a Druid in person. But now you can take an experience-based course wherever you live, and when you enrol on this course, you join the Order of Bards, Ovates & Druids, and begin an adventure that thousands of people all over the world have taken. It works with the ideas and practices of Druidry in a thoroughly practical, yet also deeply spiritual way.
