I’ve been a celebrant for over 10 years and bring warmth, empathy and experience to any occasion. I fascilitate hand-fastings, naming ceremonies, funerals and memorials. Bringing my many years of experience, I am able to help you plan and prepare for your ceremony, and be a calming and reassuring presence on the day.
In the late 90’s, I trained as a birth doula, becoming one of the first in the south west of England. This was a role I enjoyed for many years, giving me the privilege of being able to support with care and commitment, as babies entered this world. I added baby massage and pregnancy yoga to my range of qualifications, and continue teaching yoga to this day.
Public speaking and storytelling have been part of my life for a long time – I’ve led workshops, courses and events in a variety of settings, on themes linked to my work. I’m on the Bardic study with OBOD and it feels like coming home. Ritual has always been welcome in my life and each day brings blessings.
I have a natural openness to different life choices. I’ve spent time travelling and met interesting people from all walks of life.
All this experience came together when I trained as a celebrant in 2012. I began with a focus on funerals, and gained qualifications in areas such as managing the funeral process, end-of-life care, modern funeral arranging, suicide awareness and the grief journey.
I now also lead weddings, vow renewals and naming ceremonies. It is an honour to play a part in these memorable and life-affirming occasions.
I work in Dorset, Somerset and Wiltshire. If you have any questions, please contact me on 0790 200 8055 or via my website.
