Ursula Holden Gill ~ Sometime Storyteller / Sunday Celebrant

Celebrant

Ursula is a Family Celebrant based on the West Yorkshire / Lancashire border who is able to conduct Baby Naming, Civil Partnership, Funeral, Handfasting, Memorial, Renewal of Vows and Wedding ceremonies. Although her training was with The Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids, her work is very much led by the values of her clients.

Ursula was first moved to serve people wishing to mark their special and significant occasions in a down to earth, poignant way, back in 2010. It was then that her lifelong love of ecology and widlife merged with her wishes to further her own personal development and prompted her to start tailoring bespoke, outdoor inspired ceremonies. Initially, she sought only to cater for friends and family members, but gradually Ursula began to be approached by the wider community; groups, couples and individuals alike, people of all walks of life and belief systems who shared her passion for the natural world and fair fee policy.

All proceeds from Ursula’s work as a Celebrant are gifted to her chosen charity: Compassion in World Farming.

A good listener, Ursula relishes collaboration and works very closely with her clients to ensure that all their needs are met and that they feel wholly supported throughout the planning and preparation process and during the delivery of their ceremony. When invited, Ursula also offers guidance on how to effectively shape a ceremony in a way that befits the occasion and provides a wealth of spiritual and literary resources for her clients to draw from.

Ursula thrives on shaping stories, reflecting what adventures people have been on, their authenticity and (when appropriate) what dreams they might hold for the future – all the necessary qualities for facilitating the perfect ceremony, as her testimonials show.

Learn more about Druidry and how to join the order

The practice of Druidry used to be confined to those who could learn from a Druid in person. But now you can take an experience-based course wherever you live, and when you enrol on this course, you join the Order of Bards, Ovates & Druids, and begin an adventure that thousands of people all over the world have taken. It works with the ideas and practices of Druidry in a thoroughly practical, yet also deeply spiritual way.
